Pentair to Showcase Innovative Gas Processing and Hydrocarbon Recovery Technology at Offshore Technology Conference May 4-7

HOUSTON  (April 23, 2015) – Pentair’s Oil & Gas Separation business will exhibit at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) May 4-7, 2015, at Houston’s NRG Park. Exhibiting in Booth 1063, Pentair will be spotlighting its leading Gas Processing and Hydrocarbon Recovery Technology (HRT) capabilities.

Natural-gas processing plants purify raw natural gas from underground gas fields and from well heads with associated gas by removing common contaminates such as water, carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Pentair’s technology provides efficient, effective separations to remove substances which contaminate natural gas, including those that have economic value and can be further processed or sold. Through Pentair’s leading gas processing technologies, gas processing plants can gain operational, environment and economic benefits.

HRT provides dramatically improved solids control and hydrocarbon recovery from process water and produced water streams relative to what is achievable by conventional solutions. HRT removes solids as fine as 1/2 micron to 99.98 percent efficiency if desired and intercepts and recovers even stable emulsified hydrocarbons, allowing essentially zero free hydrocarbons to pass through.

Pentair is also hosting a media briefing at OTC for oil and gas industry media on Tuesday, May 5, at 3:00 p.m. in Room 406-407 on the second level of NRG Center. Following introductory remarks by Gene Rudolph, Vice President, Pentair Flow & Filtration Solutions – Oil & Gas Separation, Dr. Carl Hahn, Director of Innovations and Technology, and Dave Kolstad, Market Development Manager for Gas Processing, will discuss how Pentair’s separation technology solutions greatly enhance removal of contaminants, boost efficiency and reduce costs for oil and gas customers including offshore producers.

Rudolph has more than 29 years in a business and professional environment, with more than 22 years in management and senior leadership positions.  For the past 13 years, he has held senior leadership and management roles in the industrial equipment industry and the oil and gas segments. Rudolph earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona and a Master of Arts degree.A. in Organizational Management.

Hahn is a respected leader in process optimization through advanced separations applied to oil and gas production, petroleum refining, petrochemical and specialty chemical manufacturing, and holds multiple United States patents. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan with highest honors and received a Ph.D. in chemistry from Princeton University.

Kolstad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota and has more than 25 years of experience in the technical design as well as the sales and marketing of filtration and separation technologies.  He has received two patents for products in Pentair’s oil conditioning portfolio, with a third pending.  He has a deep understanding of the markets Pentair Oil & Gas Separations serves with a primary focus on gas processing-related markets and technologies.
